Hello, I've just included Superfish Menus to a Zen subtheme. How I accomplish it was explained here: http://drupal.org/node/315523 I know it's not very cleaned made from me, but when I have a bit more time I'll write it better here and how to add it as a configurable option.

The menu is really nice, I think it should be implemented in the next version of Zen.

I don't think it's up to Zen as a base theme to provide this functionality as it is already available in other contrib modules.
