When adding, removing friends, it seems 2 emails are being sent. Since it is on my home server, no emails are sent, but the error message appears twice:

    * Unable to send e-mail. Please contact the site admin, if the problem persists.
    * Unable to send e-mail. Please contact the site admin, if the problem persists.

Perhaps I am being silly. I guess the email is being sent to both requester and requestee. If so, this is not an issue, but i would like to know if that is the case :D

I'm guessing that's because you have no admin site email set. As sender we use the site default email, to protect users emails. You see it twice because it tries to send a notification to both requester and requestee. If you have no site email set, than the sender field stays empty, which is a problem.

Settings should be available at path admin/settings/site-information. Could you check that for us?

Hi,

Marius, maybe add to the documentation that the default email fiend needs to be set.
Dagomar: is this issue fixed? If not, did you try having a look at your Watchdog?

Bye,

Merc.

Hi...that might be good to include, however that site email is actually a required field, but it is good for people to know where they can set the global sender email. So, I would say the errors are due the fact dagomar is on a local install.

Marius

Sorry for the late reply you guys,

your assumption is correct, I am working on a local install. So, i am used to seeing messages like "email not send". I opened an issue because I thought that before my last update of friendlist i saw the message only once, and after i saw it twice. Since I wasn't sure if this was due to some bug, or that friendlist is supposed to send out 2 messages, i thought I'd just ask; just in case. I am closing this issue.

Thanks!

I have the same problem and I am not testing on a local server. Also, I am seeing the message five times at once :(

Hi,

The same problem = ?

Merc.

This is my first time posting so forgive me if I missed any critical information (also kindly let me know so that I don't neglect it in the future).

I am also experiencing the multiple email message error as seen here:

* Unable to send e-mail. Please contact the site admin, if the problem persists.
* Unable to send e-mail. Please contact the site admin, if the problem persists.
* Unable to send e-mail. Please contact the site admin, if the problem persists.
* Unable to send e-mail. Please contact the site admin, if the problem persists.
* Unable to send e-mail. Please contact the site admin, if the problem persists.

You are now a fan of this user.

I am running the Drupal 6.6 and the Friendlist's latest dev.

Everything I know about programming I have learned in the past 3 weeks, so I may be a bit slow at following. Thanks for your help.

Linux server
Apache 1.3.41 (unix)
PHP 4.4.9

Perhaps I should also update the status to active.

Hi William, most likely you are running Drupal on a local server and you are not able to send out system emails. Other than that I wouldn't know what else could be wrong.

For future reference, please don't re-open closed issues, but open up new ones to keep to things organized and ... welcome to Drupal community.

Regards,

Marius
