Issue Summary
I experienced this problem when two almost identical content types led to different results: On one the gallery showed up, on the other it didn't. It turned out, that the second content type had the imagefield in a fieldgroup. When I took it out of the group, the gallery worked as intended.

We seem to be having the same problem - imagefield is part of a CCK fieldgroup / tab section, when navigating to imagefield gallery administration or imagefield gallery content types, it is just a blank page. What we need is imagefield gallery distinct for every user embedded in the advanced profile / panels page.

I guess this won't be fixed in 5.x-1.x, closing.
