Over-ride theme turns to White Screen of Death

I managed to jump into the database and turn it off... and it seems to go away, but unfortunately I need it to override everywhere!

Unfortunately I cannot provide much more than that... but I have pinpointed that it only happens when I override theme (Override username theme
If this option is selected, the standard username theme function will be overriden to use the "Real name.")

I am using the Acquia Drupal 6.0 Install.. with several other nodes installed...

I am unable to turn my php errors on to provide any further insight at this stage. If anyone has experienced similar let me know.

I will try to get my php errors turned on so I can shed some light on this.

There are several other users, besides me, and no one else is seeing this. Have you tried clearing the cache? admin >> site config >> performance

I had the white screen of death problem as well, but i was using a alternate username override function in my template.php that i found in a forum somewhere. once I took that out everything was gravy.
