I'm trying to set up a custom Gmap view. I've got the map displaying properly, and it's returning the right markers in the right locations, however the Markers do nothing when clicked (no URL associated with them?). On mouseover the marker, the cursor changes as it should on a link and it shows the Node title (like Alt text), but nothing happens when clicked. I would greatly appreciate some direction!

I have all the Gmap modules turned on.

View Settings:
Page
- GMap View
Fields
- Location: Latitude
- Location: Longitude
- Node: Title (as link)
Filters
- Node: type (xx)
- Published, etc

Maybe I'm missing a step, but I couldn't find any detailed instructions.

btw - The markers on the /map/node page work like a charm.

Drupal 5.8, Views 5.x-1.6 (can't use 2 due to php 4.x)

Many thanks!

I have the same problem. Could you tell how you fixed it?
Thanks

For me, it was a simple configuration setting on admin/settings/gmap - there's a section called "Marker Action". Mine was set on "Do nothing". Change it to "Open info window" or "Open Link" and you're all set.

It didn't work out. This is a bit embarassing, but I I guess it doesn't open the link because I can't seem to find where to put the link. Where to I have to insert the code? In the macro?

Thanks

Hi, for example for a map of the Bahamas, I input manually in the gmap macro creator the text I want to show when clicking on the marker:

[gmap markers=blue::24.84656534821976,-78.046875 + 24.84656534821976,-78.046875:Hi from bahamas|zoom=7 |center=24.51713945052515,-76.31103515625 |width=650px |height=400px |id=mapbahama |control=Small |type=Map]

The text goes after the long and lat :Hi from bahamas

I am still studying this, perhaps there is a better way. I am looking at this information: http://mapedelic.org/documentation/drupal-5/gmap-10/gmap-macro-dictionary
See section OVERLAYS.

Meantime I can also make it so that the text is a hypelink that is clickable once the pop up window opens after clicking the marker.
In this case:

[gmap markers=blue::24.84656534821976,-78.046875 + 24.84656534821976,-78.046875:<a href="http://grandmacarmen.com">http://grandmacarmen.com</a>|zoom=7 |center=24.51713945052515,-76.31103515625 |width=650px |height=400px |id=mapbahama |control=Small |type=Map]

Link appears to http://grandmacarmen.com

Further, add a link and an image:

[gmap markers=blue::24.84656534821976,-78.046875 + 24.84656534821976,-78.046875:<a href="http://www.picsearch.com/search.cgi?q=bahamas">Bahamas Pictures</a> <img height="85" alt="Bahamas pics" width="128" src="/drupal5/files/u1/bahamas.jpeg" />|zoom=7 |center=24.51713945052515,-76.31103515625 |width=650px |height=400px |id=mapbahama |control=Small |type=Map]

I added the image using the normal add image function in Fckeditor while editing the body of the node that contains the gmap macro.

regards

I am trying to create a simple Gmap with one marker. When someone clicks on the marker I would like it to open a popup window with a link to another page.

It appears the Edit Info function is not yet working: http://drupal.org/node/340508.
So I edited the macro manually. Here is the macro.

[gmap markers=small red::42.6091672930498,-111.48047089576721:drupal |zoom=3 |center=46.4378568950242,-100.72265625 |width=100% |height=600px |control=Small |type=Physical]

But when I insert the macro into a Gmap field, it doesn’t work as expected. Instead of a link, I just get a popup window with the html language: “drupal”

I have tried to solve this problem in several ways—all to no avail. Here is what I have tried.

- In Settings>Gmap>Marker Action I have selected Open Link.

- In Settings>Input Formats I have made sure that the Gmap Macro Expander filter is above all other filters.

- In Settings>Gmap I regenerated the marker cache and, since I am using the private download method, I manually copied private/js/gmap_markers.js to public_html/sites/js and specified the correct path in Settings>Gmap.

- In Site configuration>Performance, I cleared the cache and, just to be safe, disabled caching.

- I cleared the cache in the browser.

What am I doing wrong?

Did you insert the link manual like this: <a href="http://grandmacarmen.com">http://grandmacarmen.com</a>
or did you insert it via the "Add link"-Button in fckeditor? This at least workes for me, adding the link manually didn't work
