Hi, it is possible of course, but I won't have or take the time for it. Since more and more modules are becoming available for 6.x, and even a drupal version 7 on its way, it is of not much use to put effort in a 5.x version of this module, which is still a development release.
I guess it is not too difficult to backport it. It can be made less work by limiting the backport to the modules needed for the inline maps: mappingkit, mapclient, openlayers, and mapcontext.
