I've used this module in the past to allow teachers to create textbooks within their course (og). There a few feature requests that I am hoping to see in the 6.x port, but the main one is allowing teachers to use the new outlining tool to reorder their own textbooks with the fancy new java outliner. In essence:

a) Remove from outliner from admin path (admin/content/book).

b) User can only outline books they are the author of.

c) Add organic group integration: 1) Drop down menu in the outline interface that allows book or book page to be published to group, 2) When a parent is published to group, group affiliation propagates to children and parents. Possibly have the dropdown multi-select so you can publish to multiple groups.

In essence, currently the book outline function is only usable by administers, and gives the user the ability to reorder ALL books. It would be a nice feature for teachers to be able to outline their textbooks using the outline tool.

This looks like an entirely new module. I can limit the books the user is allowed to see on the outline tab (if that still exists, I have yet to use this module in Drupal 6 yet) but I want to keep this module small.

Post a request in the forums for someone to either expand the scope of this module, or create a new module with these features.

Don't get me wrong, those are great ideas, but I won't have time to implement them within this module.
