link to anchors within tabs

I'm using the Tabs Module to load seperate nodes as the tabs. I've set anchor points within each of the nodes. What is the best way to create url links to these anchor points? I'm having difficulty working out how to make the tab with the anchor point the active tab, when the page is visited with a link containing an anchor point within that tab.

any help would be appreciated, or if it has already been answered a link to that answer will suffice. I've had a look already but was unable to find a solution this problem.
