i have a brand new install, comments module is on, went to access control->permissions checked all radio buttons for comments module to on. but now what? i don't see any place to add comments... what gives???!!!
i'm sure it's something exceedingly simple.

i've tried this in the bluemarine theme, so it's not a question of a skin hiding them...

Comments can only be added to other content like pages or stories etc. I think you want to create a story. Create a couple of stories and see what that does.

verified comments are enabled for the node type in question?

that was a great idea. i had not. i was sure that it was another doh! on my part.

until i found out that all the nodes in question had comments read/write enabled...

re: the previous entry, not sure what you meant, but, i mean adding comments as at the demo site http://opensourcecms.com/index.php?option=content&task=view&id=132

i have 2 other drupal sites and neither one uses comments, but that's deliberate.

Can you be a bit more specific about how the comments are not working?

1. Can't enter comments to other nodes?
2. Comments don't appear anywhere after entered?
- enable a block for comments
- enable checkbox for Promote to Front Page

no links available so that one could add comments to any node.

drupal 4.7
i noticed that the comments link shows up if dont add a category to the new node???
anyone else have this?

it was a theme issue. try a really different theme
