Error on activating the module

Description

I get this error (screenshot attached) the moment I activate the module. Since I can't deactivate it now, I deleted the directory from the modules directory. I tried the earlier stable release as well, but get the same problem. The error message is
'Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_OBJECT_OPERATOR in /home/lazyreader/www/pepperdev/sites/all/modules/searchcloud/searchcloud.module on line 130'

Please advise what I should be doing differently. Thanks!

It mysteriously fixed itself overnight.

Broken for me also. Same error message. Fortunately I know how to change it's status in the database so I can bring the site back from the dead.

Why is this happening?
