I am not sure if this bug is able to be recreated. It appears that when I updated from CCK 6.x-2.0-rc7 to 6.x-2.0-rc8. The Taxonomy section when you create content has disappeared but ONLY when you have created some Content Taxonomy fields within that content type. Any idea where the Original Taxonomy Section when? I was looking at the module and can't pinpoint what is going wrong.

if i understand correctly, i'm having the same problem. the whole taxonomy fieldgroup disappears when a content_taxonomy field is added to the content type.

i have a freetagging vocab and a non-free tagging, the latter i'm using content_Taxonomy checkboxes for, and the former disappears on the node creation form.

Yup,.. I've got the same problem,...
But I think it's fine when the Original Taxonomy Section field is gone,... it's all replaced with Content Taxonomy field,..

But, the Content Taxonomy field,.. not inputing the term to the database for me... :(

there is an option in the field settings (under advanced settings) called 'Hide default taxonomy fields on the node form' which is selected by default.
If selected, other taxonomy fields get hidden, otherwise not.
is this fixing your problems?

closing this issue, because this issue is not relevant any more for newer versions of content taxonomy (because the way of hiding core taxonomy fields has changed)
