I'm closing this issue due to lack of update from the original poster. I was able to duplicate this with the current release version, while trying to create a Views source. After installing CVS, the same workflow completed successfully with no problems.

I had this problem with using a view as a source in rc1, and it does appear to have been fixed in dev.
