Can't seem to pass Database Setup for gallery2 installation

Hello Guys,

I need somebody to help me before I go nuts.I am a new drupal user and I have been trying to setup gallery2 for my drupal site for over a week now and it looked like I was going to get result... but I can't seem to work pass the Database setup stage.This error message(Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end in /home/gennesar/public_html/egsalumni/main/modules/gallery/gallery2/lib/adodb/adodb.inc.php on line 196 ) keeps coming up each time I click on save. What could possibly be the challenge?

These are the information I supplied:

Database type: MySQL (v3.23.34a and newer)
DB Hostname: www.mainsite.com
DB Username: mydatabaseusername
DB Password: ******
DB Name: databasename
Table Prefix: g2
Column Prefix: g_

But let me explain something,my drupal was installed in a subsite(www.subsite.com)
to www.mainsite,I hope I was right by entering the mainsite instead of the subsite?
