I installed the module as I'm used to with other modules and also tried to configure the settings. But I always receive an error 'File Create Error: timer.js could not be created'.

I also created the file manually in sites\all\modules\countdowntimer\ but it did not help. At least I configured javascript load options to ever page but I think it does not matter at this point.

I'm working with XAMPP in a windows environment and do not have windows-based security settings. Searching the readme.txt or drupal.org did not help.

If you can wait, try the nightly dev from tonight (October 8), or you could revert to the latest stable version.
I think I fixed this error.
