I just did something just as boneheaded after going into maint. mode to update a module. I was just thinking... Oh Great... I have to update EVERYTHING.... then off to check with the good people in the forums of Drupal.org....
Thanks from another person who experienced a hopefully temporary "Blonde Moment".... with more to come I'm sure.
Hahaha, I totally need to agree with "zap-admin"; You guys are amazing! I'm also brand new on drupal, but I'm already totally addictet to it, because what this community did is just great!
Anyway, I still need to ask you guys a very quick (maybe stupid)) question; I've had the same issue, than the user above: I set my site to "offline" and now I can't go back in. I tried to add the "user" but an error message appeared: "The page cannot be found" , ummm :-(!
After that, I tried with my user name (http://www.mySiteName/admin). After that I tried to use the link: http://www.mySiteName/user. I even tried to leave off the "www", but always the same thing. Than I tried with the admin-link: http://www.mySiteName/?q=admin and it went back to the offline message.
Could someone please tell me, what I still forgot to do, or what I did wrong?
That would be great, because the only other way I see right now is, to reinstall drupal, and loose all my work :-( !
Cool, I made it!
The full link to use for leaving that stupid offline mode and getting back online is: http://www.mySiteName/?q=user/login . Just in case, someone outhere is that dumb as I am ;-)!
For someone, whos interested in some known issues of drupal6, and theupcoming solutions of drupal7, I highly suggest to take a look of the site:
