I have lost track of how many revisions of ffpc, views and cck there have been over the past few weeks. I gave up on the project about three weeks ago and just now have come back to it.
The guide got me part of the way there until I just upgraded to all of the latest versions of everything. Now the instructions are out dated and I can't figure out how to get from point A to point C.
Will someone please put together a start to finish including everything from creating a cck, views and ffpc for a typical audio podcast. I have followed the instructions with as many variables as possible but I still get row plugin errors, missing field errors and no rss feed.
Why does this have to be so hard? Pardon the rant but, I have been using Drupal for at least three years and I hate to see it getting so fragmented. Is it just me or is Drupal 6 the Vista of open source CMS?

Rob_Feature commentedHey acochran....
Don't feel alone. I'm the one managing the development of this module, and I'm just as frustrated as you are. When we originally created the module, it worked perfectly. But, then Views totally changed it's API and it broke alot of stuff, including FFPC. Things changed so drastically and so frequently that we couldn't keep up and we're still trying to.
Basically, until Views and CCK are out of release candidate status, FFPC will not be complete. We depend 100% on them being solid for this module to work. Hopefully that will happen soon. When it does, I will be putting together a second start to finish screencast detailing how to create the podcast.
You can view the old screencast, but the method for actually creating the actual FFPC feed is no longer the same. That process has changed and I'll create a new screencast when it's fixed.
Sorry for the frustration....we'll get there when Views does.

acochran commentedSorry about the rant. I wish I was 1 percent as smart about this stuff as you (the developers in general) are. I really appreciate everyone who contributes this stuff. Most of my frustration comes from the fact that the only language I ever learned was QBasic and a touch of Pascal. I will patiently wait for the end product. As much of an end product as you get with Drupal.

Rob_Feature commentedI'll be creating a new screencast to show how to use the new version of FFPC in the future. In the meantime, simply check out the updated documentation.
