The USAGE section does not document:
- all the arguments of the mimemail function
- the return value of the mimemail function
- the fact that the sender and recipients can also be an array with mail and name elements
- you can create a mail.css file in your theme folder
- images with relative URLs are attached to the message

Yes, documentation is something that is lacking at this point - both in the readme file and in the handbook here on Drupal. We'd greatly appreciate any efforts anyone can provide to help rectify this.

It's something we plan to address as soon as we have time, right now the time we spend in maintenance of the module is going towards development to correct existing issues and to plan for an easier to maintain infrastructure going forward.

If you'd be willing to put this into a more cohesive and instructional format we'd be thrilled to patch it into the readme file.
