What about adding the ability to lock individual nodes for roles? The idea I have would be to provide a collapsible fieldgroup on the node create/edit page:

MediaWiki provides this functionality to help prevent vandalism (especially for current or future events)

Prevent these roles from editing this page:
[x] anonymous
[ ] authenticated
[ ] moderator
[ ] super moderator

I couldn't find another module to handle this.

There is an external module, but I personaly do not install module which are not on Drupal.org.
