Starting last night and continuing into this morning I am getting errors from the Drupal.org website. The first error I saw was:
Unable to connect to database server
If you still have to install Drupal, proceed to the installation page.
If you have already finished installing Drupal, this either means that the username and password information in your settings.php file is incorrect or that we can't connect to the MySQL database server. This could mean your hosting provider's database server is down.
The MySQL error was: Can't connect to MySQL server on 'db1-****-***.drupal.org' (4). address masked to protect the site, in case this is a risk
Currently, the username is drupal and the database server is db1-****-***.drupal.org.
Are you sure you have the correct username and password?
Are you sure that you have typed the correct hostname?
Are you sure that the database server is running?
For more help, see the Installation and upgrading handbook. If you are unsure what these terms mean you should probably contact your hosting provider.
This was followed by several site offline errors, including this one which came from http://drupal.org/node/319122:
Site off-line
The load balancer was unable to select any live web nodes. Drupal.org admins have been notified and are working to resolve.

pauldawg commentedSorry, meant to mask the user name as well. Can someone please edit this to remove the user name from the text?

killes@www.drop.org commentedThere was an error at about 5am GMT, but nothing got reported after that. When did you notice more failures?
pauldawg commentedI noticed them probably around midnight or 1AM (EST) -- I could be wrong about the time. Time is a bit of a blur lately. :) In any case the Site Offline error was still happening at last check.

avpadernoI would think it was a temporary error.
I am marking this report as fixed.
