If start date is same as end date, show only once

I have a views list block which shows upcoming events. They're listed like "15.10.–15.10. Event's Name". Is it possible to show those events which start and end on same day like "15.10. Event's Name"? And same if they start and end in same month, like "15.10.–16.10. Event's Name" -> "15.–16.10. Event's Name"?

I would be interested to know if you found a solution or workaround for the problem above (or if anybody can suggest one)? I have the same issue on one of my sites, eg displaying 'May 3-3' for an event on 3rd May that lasts less than one day, but I cannot see a way to add a conditional into the view (either in the 'Edit view' form or by hacking it into event_views.module).
