hide in content

i'm trying to use this in advanced profile.
i have a list of countries, in a drop-down selection field. i want to add a selection called 'other' which if selected will display a text field to type your country manually.
but of course in the profile page the result displays like:

country: other
other country: mycountry (typed in manually by user, of course).

i want to be able to hide the country field in the content if the selected item is 'other'. hope you understand.
