Sessions, contribution, connection, and Early Bird savings until 8 June.We are currently using the Search Files module to search and index Word, PowerPoint, Excel, PDF, Rich Text and Text files. Now we would like to combine this document search (from the Search Files module) with the basic Drupal content search so that all content and attachments return one list of results, instead of having separate tabs and lists.
We could of course use a paid or free service like Google for accomplishing this, however this site is completely closed to the public and is for internal use only. This is an immediate need and must be completed by the end of this week (10/17/2008).

use Apache solr
Try using the Apache Solr module instead. Also - if you are having problems with helper apps for search files - Apache Tika offers a one stop alternative to having to configure all the helper apps.
