How Do I Remove the "My Account" item in the menu? It says it is locked and won't let me do anything with it. I'd like to use the /user as a redirect to it instead so the same link functions as a call to login or go to the user account. This will cut the login box clutter.

It's by design. Not possible.

You can remove the entire Navigation Menu, and use a custom one in a new block.

Thanks. I guess I'll do that. Can I make the Title of it the username still or would I loose that feature?

I completely forgot about that feature.

The way to 'create your replacement Nav menu' is fairly complex.
One thing you _can't_ do, though, is make the title the username.
