I've had this problem for quite a while and can't get rid of it. Although I installed 6.x-1.0-beta2 Drupal recognises it as 6.x-1.0-beta1 and constantly bugs me to update it. I've tried removing it and adding a new one, but it didn't solve anything.

I think I can call this a bug in versioning of the code.

Hi Silverhook,

I have noticed that with different modules. You could get the -dev in this case. But otherwise, you either get bugged or, I think, you change the date in the .info file (the Unix date, I'm afraid.) Then the error will disappear. I did that a while back, but don't bother anymore since I get the problem with many modules now a day.
