Just installed alpha2 and the panels menu item isn't showing up in the drupal admin module. (http://drupal.org/project/admin_menu)

This would appear to be a problem with admin menu which doesn't properly allow modules to add blocks. I'm not sure what the proper project name is, so can you please reroute this issue there?

Moved and I'm about 90% sure this is a duplicate. At any rate, sun is aware of it. You can fix it in the short term by using the button on the admin menu settings page that rebuilds everything.
