According to most popular document list (http://drupal.org/handbook/most-popular-pages) "Installing Drupal 4.7" is the second most popular item.

To me, this indicates the page is misfiled somewhere-- some other popular page is sending users to it?

One quick fix is to add a pointer at the top of the page. Currently it reads "NOTE: Drupal 4.7 is an outdated version of Drupal, and is no longer officially supported."

I suggest appending a link there such as "Current version is Drupal 6". Something like that to make it easier for users.

That and track down what's linking to this page and update it.

Hm, well one thing to keep in mind is that that page is actually old information. It has been noted in this issue, #312484: Static "most popular pages", which is something to still be resolved. We should probably just unpublish that page until we get a resolution, but I'll deal with that in the other issue.

re: this one, my main hesitation with adding a link to the "current" version is that it will change and chances are no one is going to think to go back to an ancient version page to update it. I'd rather make a link that said something like "Find out more about the latest version here." but even that is an issue since we don't really have a link for the "current" version.

Perhaps we can link to the version info page and update that page to have a link to the install instructions for the latest version listed there?

Did Addison add the note at the top? "NOTE: Drupal 4.7 is an outdated version of Drupal, and is no longer officially supported."
