memetracker isnt creating relations

Hi there. Im a newbie to drupal but a fairly quick learner to all things computer. Anyway after learning the core features I've ventured into other modules one of which is memetracker. Everything works just fine except that in all of the feed entries over multiple sources with a pickiness rating of 1, memetracker fails to recognize seemingly obvious relations between articles. Am I missing something?
