gusaus commentedThere is now an outline in the public forum - this should evolve as we re-commence this project -

gusaus commentedMany elements of this DrupalCon proposal submitted by Dominik Lukes seem to be complimentary to this open learning effort -

The idea(l) behind the Kata program is to create a framework for a sustainable program. Aside from offering formal certification, I think there's a great deal of overlap.

gusaus commentedI've created a copy of Dominik Lukeš 'Drupal Curriculum and Certification' and have started to make some some comments/revisions -

A good deal of it seems to fit in nicely with the initial curriculum we want to create. Ideally, Dominik can shore up this effort as we go. We can use this issue to discuss.

aaron commentedi love the document in #3. there's already a hint of it, but we would need to ensure that it's easily administered by volunteers. probably by ensuring every piece is easily demarked, easily found, easy to verify, taking no more than 5-15 minutes for each step.

gusaus commentedWe probably should break out the major components into separate issues and wikis or documents? Those, in turn, can make a curriculum handbook on the Kata site? I did set up a 'component' for curriculum on this project (if that helps) -
Also made a few comments to the gdoc...

techczech commentedThe key thing in this area is to have a database-like platform (similar to api.d.o) that would also allow for collaborative editing. The problem with page-based wikis and curricula is that they don't allow the flexibility of listing the by learning activitiy, learning outcome, achievement level, etc. Managing it all in a big table just gets to be too much very soon. I can imagine a combination of CCK and Views would do it for a start but the collaborative aspects and version control would take a bit of configuration.
The idea is to have a curriculum to which it is easy to attach learning materials and that can be easily updated. If it's just a static document off to the side somewhere than it gets easily forgotten in the melee of course design. Also, it should be a document that learners can plan and track their progress against in a really interactive and individualised way.
