Here is what I'd like to see done before releasing the next version:

  1. Implement a proper theme hook. There's an issue over at 195247: themable, but the patch will probably need to be rewritten.
  2. Try and ensure that the module works with more than just the English character set. I've got reports that it works fine with Asian languages, but there are bug reports about problems with Cyrillic character sets. I'll need help testing this as I only speak English. 226926: Cyrillic names unsupported! and 254722: First non-English title is not shown in TOC are both related to this.
  3. Add a proper filter settings page so that defaults can be chosen.
  4. Try and add some better / more documentation, as there seems to be quite a few issues with just setting it up. Many are being hit by the Drupal 6 bug 222926: htmlcorrector filter escapes HTML comments, so the documentation needs to mention that, as well as the workaround.

Update on this task:

  1. #195247: themable is done.
  2. Still no progress on dealing with non-english characters. It looks like the original reporters of the issues have moved on. If I don't have anyone to help with this, it will be pushed to at least the next release.
  3. #296171: Change Defaults? is done.
  4. Some documentation is updated, but more needs to be done.

As well, the following issues need to be set as fixed:

There were a couple of potential issues pointed out at #351051: Support for [ and ] and a few other bug/problems fixes., but given the severity of the fix at #353298: TOC in div with id?, they may need to be pushed back in order to get a release out ASAP.

I just found this module, and it seems to work a charm. The proposed version 2.3 seems to have many added benefits over version 2.2; what is the status of 2.3 now? Glancing at the source, it looks like a lot has been implemented. Is it just non-english character support and added documentation that is missing?
