IMCE: why does the file browser show sites/default/files?

I set a IMCE profile to store user upload files in 'sites/default/files/user-files/u%uid'. In the IMCE file browser's navigation, it shows the parent directories in the tree:

sites/default/files
>>>>user-files
>>>>>>>>u3

even though I can't navigate to the upper directories outside of u3. Is there a way to make IMCE not show those directory tree at all? As it, this would confuse the user because they have no access to any directory outside of their own.

Personally, although this is a pont-and-click thing, I want to be able to see a file's path easily, in case I want to use it in a link.
