I have just switched to drupal 6. I am not understanding what are the performance gains in drupal 6?

Any help is appreciated.

First there is additional js aggregation and Block cache in Core

Another performance stuff is, that core files are splitet into many files, so they don't have to be loaded each time

And the new menuapi is written, so it can handle much more stuff!

But if you use hevy modules like views/cck/panels, you ill find d6 more resource-hungry than the same d5 modules.
