came across this the other day and thought it well worth sharing with other users. It's a new podcast.module that is pending approval as a new contributed MODULE for Drupal.

This is a podcasting module. People with the proper access control
can create a podcast. A podcast contains a title, description and
if you want an image. Also a podcast contains one or more songs.
Each song can have a title, description and an image. This sounds
as easy as it is.
If you have uploaded your files, your podcast is ready to go.
In the podcast block, there will be a link to your latest podcast,
with an overview of all the songs in that podcast. There will also
be a podcast feed link, which podcast fans can use to add in their
favorite podcasting soft. If you're loggedin as admin you can also
manage your playlists here. Visitors can have a session playlist if
you want them to have.
