Hi.

For IRC-based support, join #drupal-support on the FreeNode IRC network (irc.freenode.net).

I tried to open an IRC client.
Typed in /attach irc.freenode.net
A new tab (irc.freenode.net) was loaded.
Then I typed #drupal-support
Errors occurred.

Help is appreciated.

I tried to type both #drupal-support AND drupal-support (See! without #), the error was:
- No default action for objects of type “IRCNetwork”

Silly me.
I forget to Google it.
Instead I tried to find it hard in Drupal.

I somewhat find a funny method of joining it.
Step 1)
Type in:
/#drupal-support

Step 2)
This will trigger an error:
#drupal-support Unknown command

At this time, you will see the "#drupal-support" is hyperlinked.
Click on it and you can join. :P

Haha...

PS:
1) It may be great to place a step-by-step instruction on how to join the IRC in the "support" page, so even a stupid newbie like me know how to do so.
2) If you feel it is important, it may be great to emphasise that there's an IRC chat by adding a tab on top of the Drupal website. I realise someone said in the post that he only realised the IRC support after 1 year usage of Drupal.

If you don't already have IRC Chat software on your system, do a quick search for IRC Chat Clients. There are many great solutions, including ChatZilla--a Firefox plug-in, Colloquy for the Mac, Xchat for Linux and Windows and mIRC for windows.

The easiest way to get started is to install an IRC client and then visit:
[IRC Drupal Channels List](http://drupal.org/irc/channels)
Here you should be able to click on the [#drupal-support](irc://irc.freenode.net/drupal-support) link to open [irc://irc.freenode.net/drupal-support](irc://irc.freenode.net/drupal-support) in your IRC client.

Alternatively, depending on which client software you are using, you can also select the 'IRC' menu option then 'Join channel' and enter search terms such as 'Drupal Dojo' to locate the IRC channel in which conversations related to the Drupal Open Learning Initiative, Dojo sessions and Kata development are taking place.

Otherwise the suggestions above are good ones:
- connect to freenode: irc://irc.freenode.net/
- then join channel: /join #drupal-support
or do both at once
- irc://irc.freenode.net/drupal-support

Frequently Drupal related IRC channels are logged. You can access logs of [#drupal-support](irc://irc.freenode.net/drupal-support) on [http://www.disobey.com/bot/log/drupal-support](http://www.disobey.com/bot/log/drupal-support)
