I upgraded to drupal 6.5, and completely uninstalled my working yui editor, which was a bit out of day, and reinstalled both yui and yui editor, newest dev. Both components show ok in the modules admin area. I have full html turned on and perms allowing auth users to use yui module and yui editor. plaintext button is switched on so I'd expect there to be an option re edit forms. But, the yui or plain text toggle button does not appear on any edit page, it's all plain text.

Make sure in >Administer>Site Configuration>YUI common settings
That the YUI library location is http://yui.yahooapis.com/2.5.2 if you are not using a local library.

I just released a new version that may fix this. Were you using IE? If so, then it should work ok now.
