I think it would be a good idea to have support for Profile fields; this would make it possible for a site to use this module to display "screen-names" and the like. The existing integration with the RealName module is very useful, but accessing any profile field would provide a great deal more flexibility.

I agree with you. However, this module does not create data, it only uses what is available. This probably should be a feature request against the Content Profile module.

I have run into a very strange problem that maybe someone else has seen. As soon as I try to load the profile, I get "Connection lost". If I disable RealName (the modified version), I can display the profile nodes just fine.

This is basically the same thing as #314539: Use CCK Fields from Content Profile for Real Name as far as using Content Profile to build the name, so I am marking this as duplicate. I have also opened #329606: Support for Token for providing tokens in the Content Profile module.
