IMO the List of core maintainers page is incomplete.

The page have a link to a CVS file and that's "ALL"?

Ok but why we don't make a list in this page of the main core contributors, mentioning their type of work contributions(if they want of course), a kind of resume(summary) of the person:

Who is he/she?
What is he/she in charge of?
Some story (dries and other longtime Drupal.org Members could add their stories)

This section should give information of some kind about the great people that are working, have worked for developing and product Drupal.

This is in my opinion what this page should be for.

Moving to webmasters since this is more about the site and not about docs.

The reason for linking to the CVS file is so that the info is updated in only one place. That file is part of the Drupal download, so is the definitive copy. While the extra info you would like is nice, it seems like a bit of a pain to maintain. Someone needs to gather all of that info and write it up and then when someone changes or gets added we would need to remember to manually update that page, gathering info all over again. I guess what I'm saying is that it seems like a lot of work that isn't terribly sustainable. Even if you did all the work on it now, when the CVS doc changes, who will know and pay attention and remember to get info and come back to update that page?

We could probably add at least each person's d.o user name, if not a link to their profile page, in the MAINTAINERS.txt file so that anyone interested could go read up more about the person if they want. In that case, we'd need to make a patch for the file and move this to the Drupal core queue.

I'm pretty sure there's a more recent issue about this - #245249: Make a Drupal core contribution list - sort of related.
