Description
the search works fine for all logged in users in various roles but when an anonymous user tries to search, they see no results. they have the "search Google CSE" permission as well as the regular search module's "search content" and "use advanced search" permissions.
they see the GCSE search block and the search page at /search/google.
when they submit a search via either form, they see "Your search yielded no results" regardless of what they search for.

never mind. my bad. i had just reset my test site after the last core security update and the the settings file was still pointing to the live site which created a weird mix of working and not working functionality. bah. sorry to bother you. great module btw.
