My hostprovider went from being rock solid for the last two years to being completely unreliable. I'm looking to move my WordPress.org site over to a hosted Drupal Platform where I don't have to manage anything. I remember seeing an announcement on the Drupal website a month or so ago where a company is providing this service. Does anyone know the name and url for it?

I think the company you are
I think the company you are referring to is (Acquia) http://acquia.com/ . They are not a hosting company, as I understand it - but they provide commercial drupal support and their own distribution of drupal that is maintained by them in a cleaner fashion than many can do themselves. With regards to hosting, you can host drupal on most any host. The problem with database backed sites and shared hosting is that it is often overloaded and many hosting companies are not very good. A VPS system with a decent company is usually adequate for most folks. If you search the forums here you will get many recommendations and feedback regarding your options.
