As greg.harvey pointed out, it's redundant to have multiple predefined views for each queue when we have a qid views argument.

Is there any reason these views should be defined by default?

Yes, different queues have different purposes, and it's easier on a site developer (IMO) to be able to tailor them individually with a nice starting point like this. Reducing it to just 1 view with an argument takes that away and makes the site designer work harder.

Agreed. The only potential changes I see here would be to provide a default qid agnostic view that takes an argument and/or to make it a configurable option to turn off the default views. Marking as fixed.
