The 6.x-1.x-dev branch isn't showing up on the Newsticker project page.

The newsticker_d6.zip version does not attach any scrolling effect to the Newsticker Block items.

Good point, the snap shot release is now showing up.

As for it not scrolling, it may be a CSS problem. I do have the D6 port working on a site that will launch soon. The block/region containing the scroller needs to be fixed width, with an overflow set. If you point me to where you are trying to use it, I can take a quick look.

http://www.thebeehive.org uses D6 version of newsticker at the bottom of the page. Perhaps viewing CSS on this site will help.
