When admin/settings/admin sets an administration theme different from the default theme, this setting isn't effective after any admin operation involving a form submission (like any "save changes" or create/delete operations)
As a result, this feature of having a different theme for admin, which is a really good idea, isn't usable and would deserve a decent patch in core.
