mstef commentedGreat idea. I will definitely do it as soon as I have time. I currently working on a big release for Homebox. I'm also almost done with Shoutbox Tags (#hashtag support). After that, I plan to do Shoutbox User (profile shoutboxes), Shoutbox RSS, Shoutbox Views, and so on and so on...

mstef commentedI started to try this out then stopped for a few reasons. Maybe you'll have some ideas...
RSS items need a: 1) Title 2) Body 3) Link.. The shout itself would have to be both the title and the body. And, where do we link to?

lupus78 commentedIs it possible to link all rss items to the Shoutbox page? http://www.example.com/shoutbox

R.J. Steinert commentedBingo. Putting "shouts", "tweets", "microblogs", whatever you want to call them, in RSS is awkward and there isn't a portable data standard that I know of designed for the intention of this short text based format. But I don't think that really matters :). I say pave the cow path on this one. "RSS is dead" does not mean it not damn useful. Maybe in Drupal 7 we'll come up with some awesome way to fit it into the RDF framework but for now cram that "shout" into an RSS feed, let the applications figure it out and lets not hold ourselves back from decentralizing the amazingly useful concept of microblogging.
Lets get a Views integration built #876098: Views integration

R.J. Steinert commentedMy ideas on this putting the shout in the title and the body makes sense to me. Since shouts don't have there own page yet (an argument for shouts as nodes), it seems to me the logical place to link to would be whereever the shoutbox lives or even just url of the website it came from. The link doesn't matter that much, allowing people to subscribe to streams of thought is.
