Fatal error: Object of class PEAR_Error could not be converted to string

Description
I get the following error which I believe is due to Pearwiki filter:
recoverable fatal error: Object of class PEAR_Error could not be converted to string in /var/alternc/html/o/orangeseeds/usr/drupal/modules/filter/filter.module on line 1127.
I get it once for every node + comment that uses wiki formatting. The output of the nodes/comments then becomes void, see for example:
