I'm investigating social networking options for Drupal and I found this: http://www.tekritisoftware.com/?q=teksocial

The company offers no demo to view. Anyone have any experience of this pre-packaged Drupal install?
I'm wondering how different it is to a regular Drupal install plus soc net modules such as advanced profile kit and advanced forum? AND how much they are charging of course...

I've contacted them but no reply yet.

I think I'd avoid this based on a lack of information. ie: what version of drupal is in use? what have they done to alter drupal core? how are security updates handled?

If you are serious about a prepackaged solution consider acquia-drupal which is a prepackaged solution from the founder of drupal and can be found at acquia.com. Core here is unchanged and simply a core distro with popular contrib modules. They even offer support subscriptions so you can get help when you need it.

I checked out the acquia documentation and although it has a good set of pre-installed modules it doesn't have anything like advanced profile kit or advanced user forum, so I suppose I'm probably better off continuing with the Drupal 5.x set up I have put together myself.

I was just looking for a shortcut :)
