It is working with with DHTML 6.x-3.0, not perfect though

#2

Um… yeah, that's why it says menu block is compatible with "DHTML 6.x-3.x" on the project homepage. :-)

Works not for me with DHTML menu (even with DHTML Menu 6.x-3.4); I tried it in subtheme based on Zen Classic, in Zen and in Garland. In addition, with DHTML menu, most menu blocks items look as if they would not have any hierarchy at all (see attached image).

I'm beta testing a site with DHTML 6.x-3.4 with Menu Block 6.x-2.2 in a Zen subtheme and have not experienced any problems.

I'm closing this issue since rjoy says its working fine.

Eva, if you are still experiencing problems, please provide more detailed information (how each module is configured) and then reopen this issue. Thanks!

I am using dhtml menu "6.x-3.5" and do not see it working with menu block.

Have you double checked your settings? I'm using Menu Block 6.x-2.2 and DHTML Menu 6.x-3.5 with no problems. You can see it in action at http://www.ohiochristian.edu/aid (click "Frequently Asked Questions" in the right sidebar).

Hello,

i have same problem.

#9

same problem

When you click on one, in show the sub menu block and so on.

With a normal menu, my dhtml module work fine, but with the menu block, it need a page reload.

In the site http://www.ohiochristian.edu/aid which menu use at the same time dhtml and menu block?
In fact it's what i am searching for, a hierarchical menu splitted into several blocks which can show up in the layout more freely that dhtml menu alone allow.
But i want to preserve the javascript aperture mechanism of dhtml menu in order to save page load.
To sum up, i want to have the best of the two modules, the split possibility of menu block and the javascript ergonomy of dhtml.

I use Menu Block & DHTML Menu in tandem extensively on the site referenced above. If you're looking for details on the configuration, it would probably be more beneficial for you to view http://www.ohiochristian.edu/adult-degree-programs. This page demonstrates the Primary Links (across the top of the page) and the Menu Block Primary 2+ in the sidebar block titled "Adult Degree Programs." The links for "onsite locations" and "online degree programs" expand using DHTML Menu.

Does that help, or do you want more config details for the Menu Block?

thank you, i unterstand now where you use the combination of dhmtl-menu and menu-block on your site.
I've tried to use it your way in my site, it works also.

But unfortunately, that's not what's I want.
I've made a screen shot of my menu. It's a three blocks menus each one a menu block of the same menu at different level.
When you enter the site you'll have only the first block visible, then when you click on one of the item of the menu, the second block will show up, and same things for the third block.

I would like it to appear without page reload thanks to javascript, as i'll be more flexible for visitors.

As a example the menu type I would like to achieve is the same that in this flash site
http://www.davidchipperfield.co.uk/
but in html+javascript.

Have you got some ideas?

Oh, I see what you're trying to accomplish now! I don't think you need menu block at all in this case. I suspect that you could accomplish this using DHTML Menu with some CSS overrides IF all your menu levels will appear in the same theme region (like your example).

#14

Thank you I will try with DHTML alone.
When I was thinking about it yesterday, I end up with the same conclusion
And I'll try to post someting in the dhtml menu issue queue, if somebody have more precise idea.

I know i don't have drupal version 6.3, but this is a question i guess.
i have version 6.17, i cannot see the block-menus on the list of dhtml menus that i can disable. Do the menus display in dhtml config in drupal 6.3?

I have some menu blocks in the footer of my site, and I don't want the menus to be collapsed for the menus in the footer (I just want expanded tree).

Normally i would go to dhtml configuration and check the box to disable dhtml for each menu that i want as a "non-dhtml" menu.

but the menu blocks in question do not appear in my list of menus in dhtml. So i don't think any menu-block menus appear in the list.
