I am not sure if this is an issue with this module, but can somebody check this post?:

I get email notifications for new module updates (when they are available) every 5 minutes.
My cron tells me that a machine with the Amazon's IP is producing the cron to run every 5 minutes too.

I do get the normal cron from that IP once a day, which is normal.

I am waiting for a response from other people who are getting the same frequency notifications. I do not know yet if they are running the amazon module.

Other people (see http://drupal.org/node/322547) have the same problem but they do not have the Amazon module installed.
I am afraid that this issue is perhaps not related to amazon.

After I disabled the cache the notificatiosns are not send anymore.

Since there are no answers here and it seems this issue is not related to this module I am closing the issue here.
