I'd like to use Google Analytics to track page views based on pages created by different writers so I can pay the writers based on the page views their articles generate.

With that in mind, I need one of 2 things:
1. A module/solution that automatically inserts a bit of code on a page created by a certain user. That way, each of their pages can have their personal analytics code built right into the page, and I'll easily be able to determine impressions per month.

or (tolerable, but not ideal)

2. A means (CCK?) of enabling those writers to paste in the block of tracking code manually, so that the script is invisible to the end user. I can set up a CCK field to do this, but a label for the field will still show. I can use a period for the label, which will be almost invisible, but I'd prefer something completely invisible.

Anyone know of a way to do this, or is there a module that will tabulate this for me? (And preferably, I'd like it to only track impressions, ignoring bot traffic, since impressions are what advertisers actually pay for.)

Any help greatly appreciated.

(Oh, and I've thought about just having them add the code into the body of their post, but I want to keep it as limited HTML and don't want scripts allowed in the node body.)

Have you looked at the Google Analytics module?

Yes, I have it installed, but I don't see anything to allow for per-author delineation. Am I missing something?

I have not use the module but the two points that sound like they apply are "Selectively track certain users, roles and pages" and "Track user segmentation from Drupal profile data"

The best I can tell, that tracks visitors, not authors.
