Title Replacement isn't happening

After installing ANT and configuring it to one of my node types ("user node" with advanced profiles). The title field in the form disappears as desired but the title doesn't actually get replaced. The title is being displayed through panels which I imagine is one of the problems. I tried setting the module weight higher and lower than panels but it still won't replace it. Does anyone know what the hang up might be?
