Organic Group Aggregator Confusion

ccdoss - November 6, 2008 - 14:22

I want to have organic groups, with feeds. I saw the OG_aggregator module, which states it needs the normal aggregator module. I also see FeedAPI, which states that it "integrates with organic groups". However, it states that it shouldn't be enabled if the normal aggregator module is enabled. What gives? Is Feedapi a replacement for the OG_aggregator module, or do I have to choose between the two, or can I use both?

What are you trying to

What are you trying to achieve? A list of external feeds attached to groups, with group related security on this aggregated imported feed display? OG Aggregator would do this

FeedAPI imports each RSS item as a new node. OG Aggregator does not.

I believe the FeedAPI, being an API, has lots of plugins tu support treating a CSV and iCals as feeds.

OG Aggregator just uses RSS/Atom xml feeds - although i'm sure in there was enough reason a better integration of OG Aggregator WITH FeedAPI could be made...
