Hello,
I was wondering what the likelihood is of embedding a demonstration video on a project page. Here's the project:
http://drupal.org/project/navigate
And the video embed is the following, from blip.tv:
<embed src="http://blip.tv/play/AdfuL5D0QQ" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="640" height="510" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed>
Thanks!
Chris

chrisshattuck commentedHi folks, just wanted to bump this to see if I can get a definitive answer one way or the other.
add1sun commentedYep, I can add this (though I'd also like it listed under http://drupal.org/handbook/customization/videocasts in the Modules section. ;-) The only issue with adding it is that you will not be able to edit the page anymore since we need to up the input format. To edit the page in the future you will need to create an issue to have it temporarily switched back to Filtered HTML while you edit.
Just say if that's OK and I'll add it.
chrisshattuck commentedThat's fine with me, add1sun. Thanks!
add1sun commentedOk, cool. It is probably best if you add the embed code where you want it on the page and then I can turn on the format to have it actually appear.
chrisshattuck commentedThanks, add1sun, I've added the embed code.
chrisshattuck commentedbtw, sorry for the delay, I hadn't set my subscriptions properly so I didn't get notified about the response. ;)
add1sun commenteddone!
chrisshattuck commentedI'm sure it's been said before, but you rock! Thanks!
chrisshattuck commentedAlso, you mentioned adding it to http://drupal.org/handbook/customization/videocasts , is that something I can do?
add1sun commentedOh yah. You can just create a new child page (probably under the modules section) and then give a brief description and a link to the blip video.
chrisshattuck commentedA request was made for a
in before the embed on Navigate's project page (probabaly a good idea - http://groups.drupal.org/node/20138#comment-69672). Would someone with correct permissions mind adding this in?
Also, as a belated response to add1sun's request, I've added a handbook page here: http://drupal.org/node/404046, though I'm not sure I put it in the right place. I went to Videocasts > Modules and 'add a child page', and it ended up on the top level of "Beyond the basics". Seems like it should be more filed away in a sub-page somewhere. Suggestion for an alternate location?
Thanks!
Chris
Comment #13
add1sun commented@stompeers, yay! the weird placement is because the handbooks got broken pretty badly in the upgrade so we need to sort of wait it out until it gets fixed. :-( #376790: Restore parent-child order of pages in Beyond the Basics book
Added the break tag to the node.
chrisshattuck commentedThanks, you're a peach! Subscribed to that issue (kind of embarrassed I didn't know about that). Have an awesome day!
chrisshattuck commentedOkay, considering that I need to edit the Navigate module page yet again, I suppose it's best if we turn off the embedded video and I'll just add a link. So, if we could switch the input format back to filtered so I can edit it, it would be much appreciated. I promise to pay it forward by saving some kittens or something equally heroic.
add1sun commentedArg, yeah it is a PITA, I know. Switched back to Filtered, so have at.
chrisshattuck commentedThanks yet again!
